Native Case Collection

Series

The Enduring Legacies Case Collection includes a number of cases that can be used as a series. These include the following series of cases:

• Pathways in Indian Education Mini Cases: Part 1 includes Organizing support services for Native students; Identifying and working on trouble spots in the curriculum; How to increase completion rates; Is culturally relevant curriculum necessary for Native student success?; Can pipeline and college readiness programs increase Native student success and access?
• The Salmon Series includes Ancestral Roots and Changing Landscapes: The Impact of Seattle’s Development on the Salish People of Central Puget Sound; Native Fishing Practices and Dissolved Oxygen in Hood Canal; River Flow for Riparian Health; Co-Management of Puget Sound Salmon; Salmon contamination on the Columbia River; Salmon Habitat: The Culvert Case and the Power of Treaties.
• Building Tribal Curriculum in K-12 Education series includes Making the High School Diploma Mean Something; Whose History Should be Taught; Waiting Patiently 500 Years; Since Time Immemorial: Developing Tribal Sovereignty Curriculum for Washington’s Schools.

Guidelines for Submitting a Case

The Evergreen State College welcomes case submissions for its web-based case collection. We accept case submissions in all academic areas addressing significant issues in Indian Country. Interdisciplinary cases are strongly encouraged.
